Blake's Wings & Steak

My first dine-out with friends during this "Pandemic" definitely one for the books.

I'll admit this Pandemic made me anxious to dine-in in a physical restaurant. I and my Husband have been "dining out" to "eat-in" inside our car for a couple of months now. This is a big transition from what we've been doing these quarantine times. And yes, We are still in quarantine - General Community Quarantine to be exact and I think this will be the norm until the vaccine comes here in the Philippines.

I don't really mind eating inside our car just to be safe, We don't know where the next person sitting next to me have been.

But of course, we all have a tipping point where we need to adapt to the new normal of dining in, and sooner or later you'll be eating again inside a restaurant and yes, our time has come.

The Experience

Dining out sure comes with a lot of health protocols. First, is the health declaration form that comes with a temperature check. Second, since the restaurants only allow 50% of seating capacity, you need to have the patience to wait to be seated. Third, menus are now a checklist. Some restaurant requires you to go online to view their full menu so, be sure to have some data for internet before dining in.

The Food

It's my first time to try Blake's Wings & Steak and I'm impressed. No wonder why they have such a long queue of people lining up. Food is good, especially for the price. It's not that cheap but it's justified by the giant serving.

Recommendation

Would I recommend Blake's Wings & Steak?

Definitely, It's a good bang for the buck meal! You would impress a date if you bring them here.

Would I be coming back?

Yes! Next time I'll try their Chicken Wings!

And that's for my blog, this is the first restaurant that I'll be reviewing in my new blog. Generally, this is what I do on my previous blog at WordPress then slowly transitioned on to travel blogs. Since the world is still on a pandemic this is what I can come at for now. I would love to do more bloggy entry this 2021 and revamp my blogging career (as if I had one). Follow my blog for more updates!

✨ My Working Process ✨

Yes, I am back! and with another video, even I'm surprised.
Finally did a "passion" artwork and managed to somehow record the process.

Plantdemic

The title of my artwork is Plantdemic.
It's an artwork inspired by the recent uproar of Plantitos and Plantitas on net.
I thought it would be relatable to my peers.

I am really surprised that I've recreated a new artwork in this new style I'm exploring
and managed to animate it.

Hope this is the start of a new me and I am hoping to make more of this.

✨Cheers to more artworks!✨

Death and Quarantine Times

Ever since my last post, a lot has changed.

After months of chemotherapy, my father died last March a week before the start of our worldwide quarantine. I already planned my 3rd animation video script which supposed to be titled "Emergency Fund" how timely but I haven't started doing anything about it. In fact, I haven't felt doing anything lately. My online job just decreased which means less income. Luckily, Paul's work needed a freelance animator so, that takes care of my income problem. And I happened to snatch a "big project" last August which balances the loss on our home renovation that also happened last August.

Now entering our 7th month of quarantine, Things are not coming back to the way they were before the virus. I am so grateful that Paul hasn't lost his job in spite of the economical depression we are experiencing right now. I'm still a freelancer, Thank God! I cannot express that enough. We are pretty much still the same but I'm still not happy. Of course, that whole inside my heart will never be filled again but I am trying to move on that's why I am writing again here at my blog. I'm treating this as if it was my old blog from the olden days (livejournal if you ever heard of that site). Just sharing my feelings, that's what I miss about having a blog. Reading journals from people I don't personally know but somehow I feel connected to them. Unlike nowadays, People are just doing blog to endorse, review a certain product. Vlogging is somehow good but it's filtered and edited in a commercial way. Maybe I'm just old school but one thing is for sure I do love reading more than watching people's life.

So for my project to "get back on that horse again". I would journal my quarantine journey thru blogging. I promise myself to do more ART as in drawing because I did buy myself a pen tablet so I can draw on my laptop. Well, I did draw this beautiful portrait of this couple who will be married this October, it's a commissioned artwork (yes, road to be an illustrator?) so pen tablet well served. My first time doing something like this.

Ever since I became a corporate artist (which I call myself) I think I have lost my signature style. Hoping to find my inner artistry these coming days. I just want to take things slow. Life is so fragile, I am not in a hurry, and as cliche, as it would sound, It's ok not to be ok in these trying times just don't get lost and as for help if you need one.

May bahay na rin kami, 6 years ago noong napatayo namin to.

Pangarap ko talaga makapag-retire ng 35 years old. Oo, 35 years old.

Abangan!

My 2020 Vision Board

🎇🎆It's 2020! 🎆🎇

New Year.
For some people it's a chance to hit that reset button and have that fresh start again.
I'm not like one of those who set their new years resolution just because it's the new year.
I am more of a VISIONARY. As cheesy as it may sound, I set goals and write it on my journal.
But I don't just write them in the beginning of the year. Sometimes I write weekly or monthly.
Setting those "GOALS" makes me feel that I am on track that I have a purpose to live.
And like what I have mentioned, I usually write it on my journal, only for me to see.
This year, I am trying something new. I tried making a VISION BOARD.
Rather than just jotting down my dream or wish list, I made a digital collage.
But not to be confused with my goals, this vision board that I made is more on the
dreams or wishes that I would love to have or do this year. Somewhat related.

I don't think I would elaborate my vision board, It's pretty much straight-forward.
I would love to influence you (the one reading this) to also do a vision board of your own.
Whatever day or year you might be reading this,
I would like you to try this exercise. Something to boost your moral.
Me and my husband believe in the LAW OF ATTRACTION.
And believe me, it has worked for us.
If you don't want to do a collage, You can just write it down.
The main key is to visualise your dreams and goals.
I'll try to make another blog about my Law of Attraction Experience.
But I would love to leave you a quote from Disney's Cinderella song:

"No matter how your heart is grieving

If you keep on believing

The dream that you wish will come true"

What's up with me?

I haven't really blogging a lot lately simply because I have nothing to blog about that really co-relates to this site. I'm pretty much always occupied by my other blog which is PancakeCarrot. It's actually a YouTube channel dedicated to our toy collecting and other pop culture genres. I really wanna separate this two blogs because a.) that one is a collab of Me and my husband b.) I don't wanna repeat the same content. But I am having a hard time separating them because this other blog suffers for my lack of attention.

I have been reached by another blog for a possible collab which regards on my Money Saving Tips but I haven't started that one yet. Don't worry, I am trying!

So, what's happening?

After mu Uncle died late last year. My grandmother also passed away this January, I haven't really cope up with that but then again another news came to light. My Father has a Stage 4 - Colon Cancer. You can read all about it at his facebook post.

That's what's up. We have been pretty pre-occupied by all those stuff. And I haven't mentioned our crazy car accident while my grandmother was on ICU. Oh boy, that's a whole new drama. But, here I am standing up and trying to face all the...[lost for words]... I really don't wanna call it drama but yeah.

July is my birthday month.

Since it's already half a year, I am looking forward onto the future. Haven't really migrated my travel blogs on this site and it wouldn't be relevant since it's been ages since I have traveled and had a vacation. Summer in the Philippines is not over and I haven't been on a beach trip. EVEN A SINGLE ONE. Well, it's actually acceptable with all the shit that happened. Who in the right mind would go for a vacation in this times? But I am slowly getting up. I am happier now specially it's my birthday month. Yey! Expect travel blogs maybe next year?

Events I have been to and I haven't even mentioned anything about it yet.

If there is something relevant and blossoming in my life that is my YouTube Channel with Paul - PancakeCarrot which I have mentioned earlier. We have been to National Swap Meet 3 which is by the way OUR FIRST EVER SPONSORED TRIP! We have a whole blog about it at our site, Check it out! and We have been to ToyCon PH, which is not sponsored but we had a great time.

I will try to fix my life and do more useful blog entries for everyone but until then, PEACE!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 2 (My Theory Confirmed)

Last year, I posted "My Fan Theory" about this series that Sabrina might be the daughter of Satan. Guess what, Your girl is right!

Probably should do a lot of Fan Theories more often. When I'm in the mood, I would try to give my other thoughts on other series that I'm into but for now let's focus on this show. As I'm writing this one down, the show have probably been overshadowed by a lot of pop culture shows that are totally hot right now. I'm sorry if this is too late to validate but my point is that I have called it and actually right about it. So, the show - Part 2. This isn't got me like on Part 1. Not a lot to call theories on other than what will happen to Nick. But I do love Nick more than Harvey for Sabrina.

It's a Trap

My theory is that getting Nick might be a trap for Sabrina to go to Hell, literally. I this that Lilith and Satan are both giving everyone a show on that last episode. Meaning they are both into that plan.

Let's see how Part 3 might go, in terms of story but I feel that this might be another Riverdale in the making (God, I hope not!) I had a falling out with Riverdale ever since mid season 2 on wards. I thing it's just teenage eye candy. I hope this doesn't suck like that.

Till then, I'll be on the watch.

Freelance

Let's talk about the elephant in the room, Freelancing.

More and more Filipinos are becoming aware of this Industry even though it has been here for a couple of years. The safe answer is because of "the internet". The Internet have awaken / woke the Filipino work force especially this year. Media tried to make this relevant also. A lot of media outlet features stories of freelancers having high paid salaries equivalent to an Office Executive. But does media also creates a false advertisement of the said field?

Common misconception about freelancing or freelance work is that it's easy. Since I have been a full time freelancer starting May this year, this topic is really close to my heart. Freelancing is only going to be easy when you have the skill and you choose your projects that is easy for you. But that is not always the case. Before being successful (Naks!) Well, honestly I really wouldn't label me successful, We could just say that I already had the rhythm and grasp of the freelance setup that I want it to be. Yes, you've read it correctly. I setup this situation to be easy and workable for me. Freelance is able to do that. That's the whole concept of freelancing, working on your own conditions. But it is not and I would love to put an emphases this, it's NOT just clicking and being able to use the internet. It's funny when I see post or questions on groups in facebook if they can do work by just using their cellphone. Honey, if that job only requires you to use your cellphone - better check if that's real work, it might be a scam.

Basically, in order to be a freelancer you have to have a particular skill. Me, it's designing. I'm an artist basically any business who looks for anything art related I can offer my services. I would love for someone to hire me on writing but I lack the portfolio, that's why I am also doing blog. You guessed it, I can use this as a portfolio in order to book some writing gigs. Skills that I am talking about it's just limited to a digital format. You can be a freelancer if your good at cooking. You can do some food bazaar and in order to have some street credit or just start sells in front of your house. If it's good food people will buy it. Freelancing is synonymous to side hustle jobs. I began freelancing as early when I was in college, My first client was a Chinese-Filipino, He wanted some gift wrapping design. That first hustle bought me my first desktop and my first sip at Starbucks. I am one of the lucky ones that leave their 9 to 5 jobs and now work at home. But it was not a easy choice, I went through a lot before landing here and a lot of connections from Advertising Agencies here in Manila. Some pay me on time, some payed me a little. My freelance work pay is based on projects so, my portfolio and street credit to deliver is my weapon. Some people have a steady client that pays them per hour. I haven't tried that yet, I have just scratch the surfaced. And my current projects are already paying me well that's why I haven't look for other opportunities.

The only thing that you would like to consider before diving into this world is that you have to personally pay for your taxes and other government dues, unlike on a regular office. And mostly freelance work are project based if the projects are not coming, you better have an enough saving in the bank. As for me, this setup works because my husband still has a regular job but he works from home. That's another type of job, work from home. He is a regular employee but doesn't need to go to the office regularly. He only goes to the office when they have meetings. Do not mistake this for a freelance job. Freelance and Regular work from home (that means 9 to 5 time in) isn't the same. Regular work from home = Regular office work. Confuse? I might save that topic for another post. But for now, that's Freelancing 101 for the Dummies. Before making a fool out of yourself on forums and groups on social media sites, please, do some research first. Everything is just a click away.

My Fan Theory: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

I'm really into series and movies and I've been a fan of juicy fan theories ever since I've discovered the "internet" and always thought to write one of my own. I have been a blogger ever since my college days, but I have never write a fan theory. It wasn't really my thing to write about. I love reading some but making one, I never imagined doing until today. I have several hunches or theories of my own whenever I was a series or a movie, but I never shared one of those (only to my husband and fellow geek friends) but not in the internet. So please, bear with me as I write my first ever FAN THEORY regarding this show - Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

But first, can I just say how I love the whole series. I didn't turned out cringy as Riverdale, so Congrats for that! I love the whole cinematography. The color grading and effects was spot on. The story I also like, it took some from the comics itself and made a 2018 version of it. As for my theory, here goes ~ (sources of my theory is from the show and some from the comics)

WHO'S WHAT NOW?

I think why Satan is so eager for Sabrina to sign the book of the beast is that, SHE IS HIS DAUGHTER. What I'm trying to say is that his father Edward Spellman is no other than Satan in human form.

SUPPORT FOR MY THEORY

If Lilith, have done it (in the form of Mrs. Wardwell) it's possible he could do it. He might want Sabrina as his heir to the throne, that's why he's so desperate for her signature as a swear to his alliance. And the other thing is that scene where she summon Hellfire. One from the 13 said that only 3 person (or whatever creature) can summon it. It might be a sign for s something in her DNA that why she could do that trick.

Anyway, That's for my theory. Do you have a theory of your own? Comment down below and let's discuss.

Maia's Money Saver Tips Episode 2: Snapcart

What if I told you, You can earn money on receipts.

That's right, there is money on a piece of paper you usually throw away.

Introducing the app, SNAPCART! (Sounds like an apple ad. Haha!)

Snapcart is an interesting way to earn money by snapping a picture of your receipt. I know, it sounds sketchy and honestly not credible if you don't know someone who uses this app. But I'm here to put your doubts behind this app. Here at Maia's Money Saver Tip Blog, I'll try it first and see if you could do it too. Yes, YOU! You cheap-steak, you!

It's 100% legit. And yes, I already received a cashback.

Actual screencap of the notification I received when I cashout my earnings.
How much cashback did I received?
It's more over 300 but not over 350. There was a transfer fee.
How did I received the money?
Thru a Bank Account that I registered on the app. It supports most of the major banks here in the Philippines.
How long did it take me to earn the minimum amount for cashback?
It took me like 6 months to get at least 300 (That's the minimum amount for cashout), We weren't really snapping that religiously. But If you do a lot of grocery shopping, you can earn a lot more.

What kind of receipt do they accept?
There a whole FAQ page on the app. And you could always message the customer support if you have further questions. I'll be posting a screencap of the whole FAQ page.

How long does it take for your receipts to be approved?
Usually a day. Just be mindful of your snaps. I had a few rejected receipt because of bad lighting but I also had rejected receipts because the app didn't upload the whole photo I take. When that happened, I emailed the customer support immediately but the sad thing is, I already threw the receipt and it's past the 3 day deadline. So, the moral lesson is don't throw your receipt yet if it's not yet approved.

I still think that the app is still a bit buggy but I suggest that you should link it up with your facebook or email for back-up of your data. But it's basically free money! There's no harm on trying. Just check it out first, see if you can do it weekly and decide if you what to continue using it.

So, that's for my Snapcart episode. If you have suggestions and other life secrets you want to share just comment it down below and let's make an article about.

Sweet Treat Unboxing: Cadbury Dairy Milk Lickables

Another Day, Another Sweet Treat.

I decided to make this sweet treat unboxing as a main blog topic for me. I'll be unboxing some grocery sweet treats and tell you if it's worth your money. And maybe have a video/vlog.

For today, I've gotten a Cadbury Dairy Milk Lickables.

After being bombarded with lots of tv plugs by this product, Me and my husband finally gave in to the advertisers and decided to take a look at this... dessert? I don't really know what to call it even.

Well, lets start with the toy.

I got lucky and had the Eevee whistle, while Paul had the hideous keychain. He really wanted a Pikachu, technically he got what he got but not in the form he wanted. I say that the Eevee whistle was well made but the keychain was despicable.

Now, lets talk about the chocolate.

Does it taste like the Cadbury Chocolate? so-so. It kinda taste like it. Let me just describe the texture. It was like a melted chocolate with a lot of crispy flakes similar to a cereal. Was it Good? Yeah, I think a kid would love it. Would I buy it again? NO. As a grown woman, NO. but I would buy it again for a kid or my kid if ever I would have one. The price is really high for something like that, to be fair, I would probably get a Kinder Joy next time for direct comparison. so, be sure to follow my blog to get that notification instantly. 'till next time!

Maia's Money Saver Tips Episode 1: Booky App

I've been wanting to write this article ever since I started blogging here at blogger but I don't know what to name the whole concept, so I just recently decided to stick with Money Saver Tips, as generic as that 'cause it's been taking me ages to think of a title and I reaaallly wanna write this so bad.

First Episode, Yey!

Have ever heard about Booky App? If you're traveling Manila with a partner this might come in handy.

There have been a lot of fancy and yummy eats here in the Metro but some of them cost a lot. Fear not! Booky App is here to same you a dime! (By the way, this is not a sponsored ad)

I have been using this app since 2017 and I have saved a lot of money from eating at some wonderful spots at the Metro by using Booky's Buy 1 Get 1 promo code.

Booky App
There are a lot of promos to choose from depending on the month or so, but it's constantly changing so, you have to keep an eye on those treats you would love to try.

There are also other options of money saving treats you could choose from like:

  • Most Booked - you could book your seat at a resto on a specific time with specific discount.
  • Big Buffet with Discount - There are a lot of buffets here in Manila so, if you're into that book it here for more savings.
  • Coupons under Php 99 - Cheap eats that doesn't break the bank.
  • Booky Favorites - See what's the hottest treat that cheap people like you also avails.
And many more, depending on the app / season update.

There are plenty options to choice from, Me and Paul recently tried the Seattle's Best Javakula.

There are a lot of branches to choose from but we ended up at SM North Edsa. Steps on availing one is so easy, you can either do it online or offline. Just click on the coupon you would love to claim (Note: Click the claim button only when ordering the meal or about a minute from the counter) Usually the cashier personelle would guide you thru the process. Don't be shy to ask for help.

Our Brownie Javakula that cost only Php195.
There you have it, You just save a peso! It's an addicting feeling on saving money while eating. I don't know about you but at the peak of inflation here in Manila, dinning out is a vice. But when you use this app, you won't feel guilty on spending your hard earn money. So, next time if you have a date, don't hesitate to pull out that mobile phone of yours and start splurging but at the same time also saving.

This is just a first on my Money Saving Tip. Be sure to visit my blog again next week for more frugal way of living.

All Hands Beach Resort, Subic

I have been to All Hands Beach Resort for numerous times but this is the first time I've ever had an overnight stay on that resort.

This us on a stop over while going to All Hands Beach Resort.
I'm was pretty much excited on what the resort can offer especially when I came with my whole family. And when I said whole - I meant complete attendance of my father's siblings together with some of my cousins.

See, this trip wouldn't even been possible if my uncle haven't recently passed away. His death brought my Titos and Titas home in Manila. Some of them came all the way from Ireland, USA and Australia. It is really the first time to have an outing grand like this. It's just sad that it only made possible because of a death.

All Hands Resort Villas
THE STAY

As I have mentioned, We were a lot.

25 pax I believe? They've (they meaning I have not shed a single centavo in this trip. so, Yey!) managed to rent 3 Villas that almost fit us. Me and Paul managed to stay on the top bunk bed together while my Mom and my Dad had separate beds. I wasn't paying for the trip so, yeah it was ok. They paid 1,700 pesos per person on that overnight stay on the villa. The Villa comes with a Air-conditioned room, several beds can fit 6 adults or more. And the per person package comes with:
  • A fresh new towel (you can bring it home)
  • Toiletries for every single one. (Shampoo, Soap, Toothbrush and Toothpaste)
  • A bottled water
  • Breakfast Meal
For a big group, I think it was a good deal rather spending a lot more on much high-en resort / hotel. My brother told me the expense was more or less on 25-28,000 pesos so, I'm not really sure on or head count, ok.

The Beach was still an ok for me. It was not the best on Subic probably but for me compared to Camayan Resort (which I have been too also), it was much better. In terms of privacy and price range. Me and Paul beach go to is All Hands because it was the nearest beach Me and Paul can easily drive to.

You could also feed the fish there
I don't know the feedback of my family from All Hands Beach Resort but I hope they enjoyed as much as I do. It was my first time to have an almost complete family member outing. Plus, there weren't a lot of people at that time that got us an almost private beach resort of us.

I forgot to mention that I had a work at that time (I've gone freelance now) I bought my work at the shore, I commend their wifi. It was reliable at times.

So, if you are trying to have a huge beach family outing, Try to consider All Hands Beach Resort.

Here are some more pictures of the resort for your pleasure. Enjoy!

Travel Journ: Booking and Planning

Normally, I manage our own Itinerary in our every trip for more control on our schedule in case of what’s – what with me and Paul. but last 2014, during our Cebu Trip we’ve manage to have 5 days stay at Cebu and I was thinking to go a beach but Paul didn’t want to do another travel especially a long travel so, a week before our Cebu Trip we’ve manage to bought a tour package for Bohol – it’s just a 2 hour ferry ride via Cebu City Proper. The Trip was hassle-free and I was really having a good time without worrying what’s next on our Itinerary. Being said that, Me and Paul concluded to just buy a tour package for our Puerto Princesa Trip.

I've made a simple pros and cons table to choose whether you'd go to a travel agency or DIY your trip.

Choosing your travel agency, is a bit tricky. be sure to do some research whether if the business is legit. our better yet, consult a friend who has recently bought a trip via travel agency or if they have an agency to recommend.
If not into travel agency, do some excessive research on a place you are wanting to visit. Download a map app on your smart phone or if your old school bring a physical map. Watch a lot of Travel Shows and do read blogs.
The most honest opinions are posted via blog sites.
Ultimately, the fun factor of your trip will be depending on you no matter how much you’ve spend on it.

Losing Someone

I have been inactive for the past week, The reason is that I have been sick because of my massive boil and my uncle just died of due to complications on his prostate cancer.

I haven't seen my uncle in the past 3 years. His wife had a huge fight with my other relatives which our family also got accidentally involved as well. This resulted to them moving far north and didn't even gave us any information onto their whereabouts. But last 3 weeks before my uncle died, He went back to visit my father and my grandma to make amends on their broken relationship.

I was really close to my uncle, He was the one who always fetch me every friday night at our house to spent my weekend at their house (my father's ancestral home). We was the one who introduce me to Shawarma. He made us ride his motorcycle around the subdivision together with my friends. He was always jolly and full of jokes. Me and my husband (who was just my boyfriend then) spent our sembreak at their house at Nueva Ecijia. He was a bundle of joy to our family, especially to me.

I never had felt a massive loss such as this.

That's why I'm writing this. Writing this might give me a feeling of release, in terms of emotions.

I hope he is happy now wherever he is.

I love you, Tito Ninoy!

Morong Star Beach Resort – Bataan, Philippines

In the Philippines, Holy Week = Long Weekend.

The Gang

In this particular trip, I didn’t did much in terms of choosing the resort and reservation. My friend Ivy did all the dirty job. It was her first time to organise this kind of trip, she and Philip haven’t really been doing a lot in terms of our group trip. Usually, I do all. They were just there to pay, sit back and watch me do all the work.
I was always the “Mom” of the group
But since me and Paul were just back from our Puerto Princessa Escapade, I was not really planning anything to do during the Holy Week. but since Ivy insisted to have the last hoorah trip before she start for her new job, I let her do all the research and turn the tables on them. Luckily, She found a resort that was right for our budget. I in particular don’t want to spend much since Me and Paul still haven’t got a job and we’ve just recently splurge on our last vacay. My budget was just 5000 Pesos for Me and Paul. Here’s the break down of what we’ve did.
Morong Star Beach Resort Deck

THE STAY

We have rented a room good for 4 people for just 3,750 a night. We stayed at Morong Star for 3 days and 2 nights that’s 7,500 Pesos. 50% downpayment was paid upon reservation.
From Left: Me, Philip, Ivy and Paul

For the room, it was pretty much just a room.
No TV, No Wifi, No servicephone.
Just 2 queen size beds which was humungous. The comfort room was small, but it was ok. The room was also air-conditioned (a Philippine necessity). for 3,750 a night it was ok since outside the room, the resort offers a lot of activities to do.
They offer:
  • Zumba (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)
  • Movie by the shore (starts at 8pm)
  • Zipline
  • Water Activities (banana boat, kayak, etc.)
  • Island Hopping
  • Swimming Pools (for Kids and for Diving Practice)
  • Adventure Park (mini biplane, one line bridge, etc.)
  • Karaoke
If I miss something please do check their website. They have a complete list there.

Adventure in the beach?

Philip and Ivy

Other than the activities around, We got to talk more with each other. Ivy bought a card query game, it was fun. We got insights on the boy’s thinking, fantasies and dreams. We also had a lot of time walking by the bay and just beach bumming.
Me and Paul trying the mini zip line

THE FOOD

Since We were on a tight budget Me and Paul (Ivy and Philip, too) bought food along with us.
DAY 1 – THURSDAY
When we got there, it was lunch time – I have cooked Adobo and Ivy bought Lechon Manok at the bayan area of Morong so, the chicken was still hot when we got there.

For Dinner, We decided to try the resort food. For Me and Paul, we’ve ordered Sinigang na Isda -since it was Holy Week and we are Catholic, we are obligated to eat anything either than meat and to make-up for the meaty lunch we had (The Adobo and Lechon Manok). For Philip and Ivy, they’ve ordered Chicken Pastel (I don’t know what the heck they were thinking, We just ate a whole chicken during lunch time still crave for more chicken at dinner). For our surprise, the serving of their food was humungous. It was really worth our money, for it was not just generous in terms of serving size but it was really good. Me and Paul spent 245 Pesos (170 for the Sinigang and 25 [x3] per cup of rice)
DAY 2 – FRIDAY
We have bought our water heater with us, for breakfast we ate cup noodles, pinoy tasty (loaf bread) and coffee.
For Lunch Time, we have bought canned tuna and vienna sausage.and just bought cooked rice outside the resort at the karinderya (a small store selling cooked foods) for only 10 pesos per cup.
Dinner, again we bought cooked rice outside and saw a small barbecue stall and bought 2 sticks of pork barbecue for 30 pesos each. plus we bought 1 order of dynamite sticks (green chilli in a for of spring roll) for only 20 pesos.
DAY 3 – SATURDAY
Same as yesterday, cup noodles, pinoy tasty (loaf bread) and coffee.
Lunch Time, we drop by and ate at Mcdo – Subic on our way home.

OVERALL

Paul in Zenn Mode

Although, the lack of television in our room made us a little disappointed at first but later turned into a good thing that happened because during our down time, We got to bond in the most natural way of bonding – thru sharing and talking to each other. We’ve discussed things we’ve never talked before and had a lot of reminiscing during our college days. We did a lot of things people do before the wifi era, walk and explore the bay area without updating our status or sharing an instagram groufie.

Almost prenup picture material

all of the social media updating happen when we got home. it was just a chill 3 days at the shore and I really felt the beach bum vibe. After the trip, I realise that I can survive 3 days of no internet and no news from the television and just living at the moment. with that happened I think, I can survive camping but in a for glamping (glam + camping). It just open a door for another opportunity to try next for our future trip, and since glamping sites are now becoming a thing here in the Philippines, sooner or later I will be trying it. and although my no meat diet during the holy week was not really consistent but the thing that substitute it was days of no social media, which I think was more of a big deal than a no meat diet.
It was really a sacrifice, social media is a part of my everyday life.
but during our trip – funny, but the idea of not being on-line – I thought was not liveable. I thought, I won’t last a day. I supposed that nothing really beats good company. The thing that I can’t really survive is a day without good company.
